When work needs another body
An NPR article about coconut harvesters in Thailand cites a number that stays with you: a male macaque can reach 1,600 coconuts a day, a female 600, and a human about 80. From there, the map opens: humans have built jobs around the smell, sonar, hooves, wings, blood, and instincts of other species.
